If you’ve read my page on Internet Income 101, then you know that one of the top places I recommend most people to start earning money online is through affiliate marketing.
The barrier to entry is very low, and its reasonable to expect that anyone, regardless of prior experience, can invest just a few hundred dollars, and a few hours a week, and have a profitable site up and running in less than a year.
Compared to the costs of starting a traditional business, these online startup costs are practically negligible. Low risk, but with a determination to succeed, it’s very doable.

So, how do you spend that few hundred dollar investment?
In two ways. The first is fairly obvious. You need to have a website. The good news is that a domain will only set you back about $15 a year, and hosting is between $60-90 a year, depending on what type of plan you choose. For starters, I always say go basic, and you can upgrade later if need be. Click here to read more about website costs.
That means you’re spending less than $100 on the actual website, and maybe you also want to get an email marketing service, like Mailchimp or Aweber, which are also very inexpensive these. You can even start for free and only upgrade when you’re ready.
I don’t mean to sound like grandpa with that statement, but it’s true. Making money online is not random. There’s a proven formula for success that you need to know. While you could go around reading dozens of blogs to try to piece it together, you’ll ultimately be left with conflicting opinions and an inability to figure out exactly what steps you need to take.
For that reason, I recommend you choose an affiliate marketing course, and stick with that course until you start earning money. The worst thing you can do is to bounce around between different theories and projects, without ever pushing any one of them to the brink of earning real money.
Top Choices: Wealthy Affiliate and Affilorama
Once you’ve decided that you should purchase a course, the next question is which course you should invest in.
To me, there are two clear winners.
Wealthy Affiliate University is a great platform that’s been around since the early 2000s, and has morphed and grown as trends in affiliate marketing has changed over the years. It offers a free trial for each and every one of its members, which makes it an easy decision to start with, and see how it fits for you.
Affilorama is another leading program, and a good recommendation if you’re just starting out. You’ll have access to a ton of video training as well as blogs and other resources, and the benefit of Affilorama is that the marketing training is tied into some of the best affiliate software around, though that’s an additional cost, and I don’t think you need all of that if you’re starting on a tight budget. You just need to get to the point of monetization as quickly as possible.

I hope this post helps you figure out which beginning affiliate marketing program you should choose, and how to get started earning money online in one of the fastest and easiest routes available to you!
